Meet Shelly Paznokas, our former Creative Director (‘18 - ‘24) and one of Noteworthy’s Principal Arrangers.
Shelly has been singing in a cappella groups since high school. While completing her undergraduate degree at Temple University, Shelly had the opportunity to start her own a cappella group, “Low Key.” While in Low Key, Shelly not only met her husband AJ, but also her close friend Vince McNeil. When Vince approached Shelly with the idea of starting a young adult a cappella group in Philadelphia, Shelly was just finishing her law degree at the Kline School of Law and loved the idea of having the opportunity to continue pursuing her passion for singing.
While Shelly has been performing from the young age of 3 through various outlets (dancing, singing, playing musical instruments), she shares:
“It is a different feeling to perform with an a cappella group. Harmonizing with other people – there’s no other feeling like it.” She especially enjoys the sense of community that she has found through this group.
Outside of Noteworthy, Shelly enjoys performing as a lead singer, keyboard player, and rhythm guitarist with her (mostly) all-lawyer cover band, “This Too Shall Vest.” In addition, Shelly performs with her mom and dad in their family band, “The Pizzatellites.”
Shelly currently works full-time as an Associate Attorney with a personal injury firm and part-time as a law professor at the Kline School of Law.
In her free time, Shelly enjoys reading, playing video and board games, and spending time with her two cats, Storm and Caboose.
